Glow Bears GDPR Policy

What is GDPR and how does it differ from the DPA?

The DPA was introduced back in 1998, which, to give you some context, was the same year Google was launched. A lot has changed since then, how data is collected and the complexity of locations where it is stored have changed dramatically.

Although much of the legislation from the DPA remains, GDPR looks to reinforce certain elements.

Before we go on, it is worth clearly defining what 'processing' data means in the context of GDPR.

It basically refers to any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether that operation is automated or not. That includes collecting it, organising it, structuring it, storing it, retrieving it etc .

At 3 Glow Bears we need to collect some data from those attending, we need to do this to operate our business safely and efficiently.

We will collect customers names, contact details and the names and ages of their babies and children.

This is in order to safely enable them to attend our classes, parties and sessions.

We need to have a way to contact you to inform you of our policies, our class structures and other information to enable you to attend class or to inform you if there has been a change to class.

We need to know the age of your baby or child so that we can correctly place them in a class and to make sure we can offer you all the classes available at the suitable stage for your child.

We will not share your information with any other business or organisation.

Please note that social media will have some information on it, if you choose to post, comment or send messages to us via this medium we cannot guarantee that this information can be fully deleted. If you contact us via social media, we will assume that you are aware of this and are happy to communicate in this way.

We sometimes use photographs on social media and in our advertisements. We will ask you if it is okay to take a photo, please let us know if it is not. We do not usually use names with our images, (unless you specifically tell us it is ok to do so).

We cannot guarantee how long these images will be on social media and who has access to them as our main pages are public. Please inform us if you do not wish to have your or your child’s images on our socials or advertisements.

We will do everything we can to protect your privacy and your personal data and only ever use it for the purposes for 3 Glow Bears.
